Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026
Tamboji (“we”, “us”) helps people run tambola (housie) nights. This policy explains what we collect and why. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a game, we never handle money inside the game, and we don’t sell your data.
What we collect
Hosts (organisers)
- Your Google account name, email and profile photo, used to sign you in and keep your game history.
- The games and settings you create (prizes, house rules, sponsor labels).
Players
- The name you type to join a game.
- An optional vibe emoji or photo you choose — shown to others in your game room.
- A device key stored on your own device so your tickets come back after a refresh.
- Your marks and claims during the game (the referee needs them).
- Registered players additionally have an account (as above) so wins follow them across nights.
Automatically
- Basic technical logs (e.g. device/browser type) to keep the service reliable and secure.
- Aggregate, privacy-friendly usage analytics — only if analytics is enabled, and never to identify you personally.
How we use it
- To run your game — deal tickets, referee claims, reconnect you, show the room who’s winning.
- To keep host history, trophies and leaderboards (for registered accounts).
- To keep the service safe and to improve it.
What we never do
- We never take payment, hold money, or process wagers inside a game. Any prize amounts or “pots” shown are labels only, arranged offline between participants.
- We don’t sell your personal data.
What others can see
A game is social: within a room, your chosen name, emoji/photo and your wins are visible to the host and the other players. That’s the game. Outside the room, this information isn’t public.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Tamboji — hosting and database, and (optionally) email delivery and analytics. They process data on our behalf under their own security commitments, and only to provide the service.
Photos
If you upload a photo as your “vibe”, it’s stored as a small thumbnail with your player entry and shown to your room. It is removed when the game and its records are deleted.
Retention & your choices
We keep game data to provide your history and trophies. You can ask us to access or delete your account and data at any time — email tamboji.app@gmail.com. Players in open games can also clear their device key from their browser to remove their local reconnect data.
Children
Tamboji is a family game often played with children present at a gathering. It isn’t directed at children for independent sign-up, and hosts are responsible for the guests they invite.
Changes
We may update this policy; we’ll change the date above when we do.
